The IIS team announces preview of updated Failed Request Tracing XSL

Lead Program Manager Eric Deily announced a preview of an updated XSL with an all new look and feel for IIS7's Failed Request Tracing (FREB.) Failed Request Tracing aims at helping users step-through the request as-if they were actually present at the time the problem occurred.
Deily indicates in his forum post that the information gathered hasn't changed, but the way it is displayed has. Bill Staples' blog outlines in more detail how the progression has taken place in this user-friendly feature of IIS7. As Staples indicates, the default layout for Failed Request Tracing log files is more vertical in Windows Vista, often leading to more time finding the problem. The IIS team is working on an update to the XSL and has made available a for you to try today.
As Deily points out, you can download the new FREB xslt and add to your FREB log file directory. This new look will be automatically picked up when opening your freb log file.
